On Tuesday 25th April 2023 we welcomed Professor Arlene Wellman MBE to open our new Health Midwifery Suite.  Professor Arlene, England’s most senior, internationally trained, Acute Trust Chief Nursing Officer delivered an inspiring talk on how she embarked on her career, coming from Trinidad and Tobago over 20 years ago developing her career in nursing and helping others.  Our T Level Midwifery students were very enthusiastic to meet Professor Arlene and ready to put into practice what they have learnt, showing how they would take a patients blood pressure and vital checks.   Also in attendence were staff from Guy and St Thomas Trust; Mr Davies -Widening Participation and Ms Foloronsho- St Thomas’s clinical placement Officer/maternity  who talked with the students about how they could further embark on a career in Nursing.  You can find out more about out Midwifery TLevels here
