Sheriff's Challenge Champions - 2024
Year 12 students, once again, participated in the prestigious Sheriff’s challenge, sponsored by the Worshipful Company of Insurers. A huge congratulations to the winning team (Paris, Nyree, Insalf, Kachine, Uriel and Zachary) who emerged victorious in the final round at the Old Bailey, after competing in multiple heats against three other schools.
As part of the preparation, they visited Lloyds of London, the hub of insurance. Hear from Paris, as she recounts her experience:
“Thanks to our tour guide Samantha Ridgewell, I was exposed to the world of insurance, in which i gained invaluable experience. The visit significantly altered my perspective on the roles of brokers and underwriters, and influenced my career decisions slightly. I was provided with a tangible understanding of the complexities within the industry and how vital the role of insurance companies are”.
The team diligently practised with support from Mr Regan and Mrs Coyle. They participated in several interviews, leading to notable improvement in their confidence and public speaking abilities. We are very proud of their achievement and we look forward to participating in the challenge next year!
Here is a reflection from Insalf, on the significance of winning the Sheriff's Challenge:
“Winning the Sheriff's Challenge isn't just a personal achievement; it's a reflection of the collective effort and collaboration that defines our network. Together, we've demonstrated what's possible when we come together with a shared vision and determination to make a difference”
